Start here: how to ask a rules question

The whole rulebook is free to read on this site, so the fastest answer is
usually a link to the page it is on — which means a question is easier to
answer when it says what you were doing.

A good one looks like: what the character was trying to do, which roll you
reached for, what the table could not agree on, and what you did in the end.

Answers here are not errata. When something turns out to be genuinely unclear
in the book rather than at the table, it goes on the list for the next
edition — and buying the book once means you get that edition too.
